OPERATION BROWN CHEESE:
GIVE US BACK NORWAY

Immersive docufiction, live performance, live broadcast
150’ DFDS Copenhagen-Oslo ferry, DR, NRK (2014)

On May 17, 2014 Norway celebrates its 200th anniversary of independence from Danish rule. On that same day, we stage a coup d’etat to take back what used to be ours: Edvard Munch, Henrik Ipsen, fjords, mountains, salmon, oil billions, etc.

We board the Copenhagen-Oslo ferry with our production and perform an immersive docufiction in front of a live audience of Danish settlers to-be. Meanwhile, an avant-garde of agents is in place in Norway collecting information, building relations and preparing for the takeover.

The show was broadcast live on Danish public tv DR2 and later by Norwegian public broadcaster NRK.

News flash from Norwegian evening news ‘Dagsrevyen’ about the attempted coup d’etat (in Norwegian w/Danish subtitles)
