In my early days as an investigative journalism (this was in 2005, a week after I had joined Bastard Film in Copenhagen) I was asked to go shopping for a suit jacket and bring it to a tailor who would sow into it a tiny buttonhole camera. Next step was to get me uninvited into a meeting: an initiation for the multi-level marketing scheme that not only sells the products of Amway—but promises anyone with a shimmer of ambition wealth and success.
